The Cherokee suffered its first failure at 1200 miles .
Not its fault though.
Wife hit a ‘stick’ in the road at 60mph , roadside assistance was an hour+ away so I left on lunch to swap the spare in my hooptie parts van .
Unfortunately I did not get the Road Hazard coverage my dealer offers, because I kept telling them “I Know A Guy” when it comes to getting parts.
$145 for a new matching tire isn’t TOO bad I guess. I was half tempted to get a cheap Starfire for $75 though....

My mom got a nail in one tire and had to have all four replaced. Ouch.

Bummer man.
M ost new cars come with fee roadside assistance through the manufacturer, is this 1,200 miles for you on a used vehicle or total?

Perfect opportunity to swap them out for 35s!
Also, as a salesman who sold all of that extra coverage, you are very likely to come out ahead by ignoring those things (most of the time) .

But, what about the paint sealant and the Scotchguard fabric protector and the plastic door edge guards? You’d be crazy to not go for those.

Oh the roadside is free.... they were just going to take too long. She was literally a half mile from home.
Road Hazard on the other hand would have replaced the tire for free.
1200 total, its a 2020.

AWD?
Sucks when one tire is cashed, and the other 3 are too far out of new tread depth spec that it would kill the driveline to just do one.

Jokes aside, if I was a parent of young children, I’d for sure get the interior protectant.
And lik e it or not, here in MN, the rust undercoating makes a HUGE difference in the way a truck looks 10 years down the road. Like night and day. If you’re only going to have a vehicle for 5 years, pass on it. If you plan to keep it for the long haul, it’s worth it’s weight in gold.
In my selling days, I took the unheard of approach of being honest with my customers when it came to what extras could be worth it, and which were worthless money grabs. Surprisingly (or not if you have a brain) I sold way more additional products than anyone else.

That is actually the proper way to do it, sell people on what is actually useful to them and properly explain why it is useful. Gas stations used to sell tons of fan belts and hoses in the days when they offered free under hood checks with every fill up, and drivers were generally happy to have the cracking and dry rotting caught before they were stranded on the side of the road.

I should note it had 42,000 or so miles and was on OEM tires.
